Saskia Rodríguez, a place between reality and fiction

Saskia Rodríguez is an artist born in Gran Canarias trained in painting and stamping. His artistic work focuses on ideas about lies and repetition, to raise questions about how credibility and truth values are built in today's society.

Hello Saskia, who are you? How would you define yourself?

I don't really like definitions, I think they limit us.

I was born in Gran Canaria and lived there until I was 18 years old. Since then, I have lived in Salamanca, Valencia, Galicia and the Basque Country. I currently live in London.

When did you decide to become an artist?

I don't think it's a thing you decide to become. I guess you just do a number of things that are considered art. And personally, as long as I can remember, I have always had a great interest in the world of art.

How would you define your style in one sentence?

I don't consider myself to have a style, although I suppose that without wanting it, I follow a line of interest that perhaps makes my work recognizable, so to speak.

The sensation that it generates.

Which of your works do you have a special affection for?
