Today we interview Daniela Ardanaz, a young illustrator student of fashion and later of Fine Arts, whose life has always been linked to creativity, giving life to many of her interesting and endearing protagonists.
Hello Daniela who you are? How would you define yourself?
It is a question that I find difficult, I still have things to discover about myself. Now I am in a time of change, but I would define myself as happy, colorful and free.
Where were you born? Are you still living there?
I was born in Venezuela, when I was eight I moved to Madrid and I have not returned, although my roots are still connected to me thanks to my family. A few months ago I moved to the countryside, to a coastal town in Cantabria.
When did you decide to become an artist?
Since I was little I have always been creating, painting, collage… When I finished high school I studied fashion and then I did Fine Arts, I have always known that my path had to be something creative.

How would you define your style in a sentence?
Long live the color!
Your weaknesses? Your strengths?
Sometimes I am a little impatient. I always follow my instincts, and when something gets into my head I don't stop until I get it.
What would you say makes you different?
I guess like any other person, my interests, my environment and how I see the world.

What do you find most fascinating about creativity?
It is a way of life that, in general, makes you feel better and allows you to observe and live in the world in a different way.
Which of your works do you have a special affection?
It is always one of the last that I do, although from time to time I look at my old works and see how they have evolved.
Who or what inspires you when creating?
I studied fashion and Fine Arts, fashion is almost always a reference for me, and it is very present in my work, although lately I am exploring new paths. Photography, design and the work of other artists, especially illustrators, inspires me a lot.

Do you have a new project or idea in hand?
Forever. Right now I am working on a project related to emigration, and doing illustrations for a book of poetry.
2025 Where do you see yourself?
In my study.
Finish the sentence: When the going gets tough ...
Follow your instinct.
