Today we carry out our questionnaire to Laura Quevedo, a Spanish graphic designer specialized in the technique of collage and currently residing in Leiden, the Netherlands.
Hello Laura, who are you? How would you define yourself?
It's hard. There are many definitions of a person that are forged over the years.
Where were you born? Are you still living there?
I was born in Santander, Cantabria, but it is in Torrelavega where I have my family residence. I lived in several Spanish cities, I worked in Madrid, in Berlin and now I live in Leiden, the Netherlands.
When did you decide to become an artist?
I have never decided, everything changes and happens, I get involved in things that attract me.
How would you define your style in a sentence?
Provincial surrealism and other acquisitions. (laughs)
Your weaknesses? Your strengths?
I am clueless and impulsive, like a spring that compresses and stretches too fast. In strengths I would say positive, sincere and with a good sense of humor.
What would you say makes you different?
My Adam's apple.
What do you find most fascinating about creativity?
That surprises you, it has no limits, suddenly something great appears that you do not expect, it is like listening to the best joke in the world.
Which of your works do you have a special affection?
They all occupy a part of me.
Who inspires or influences you when creating?
Everything around me inspires me.
Do you have a new project or idea in hand?
Yes, I am researching and directing another collage concept.
2025 Where do you see yourself?
I'm not sure where to go, but I see myself doing interesting projects for myself.
Finish the sentence: When the going gets tough ...
is when you have to release your best energy.
A favorite place
Many… the Cantabrian mountains and Reunion Island.
What would you do if you could change the world?
Inject a good dose of respect and education, for me two basic pillars to make the right decisions.
Penultimate question… Favorite song?
Hard to pick, any Bowie.
