Pati Baztán, abstraction by nature

Today we speak with Pati Baztán, a young architect with deep-rooted abstraction in the most natural and wild way. It never stops evolving, nor does it stop surprising.

Hi Pat, who are you? How would you define yourself?

My name is Pati Baztán, female and closely linked to nature, instinct and aesthetic emotion.

Where were you born? Do you still live there?

I was born in Mérida, my first years of life were spent in Uruguay and now I have been living in the countryside, near Barcelona, ​​for years.

When did you decide to become an artist?

I never decided to become an artist.

How would you define your style in one sentence?

abstract expressionist.

Your weaknesses? Your strengths?

My weaknesses are all the arts, dance, literature, music, painting... and animals. My strengths I keep working on it.

What would you say makes you different?

I don't consider myself different from anything.

What do you find most fascinating about creativity?

What makes you feel alive.

Which of your works do you have a special affection for?

Always the last one I've done.

Who inspires or influences you when creating?

Normally I don't wait for inspiration or look for it, it just emerges while I'm working, like something natural, I suppose that everything I've experienced is part of my inspiration.

Do you have a new project or idea in hand?

Right now I am working on my own pictorial technique that I have called Earth skin, investigating to see where it leads me.

2025 Where do you see yourself?

The place doesn't matter so much to me as long as I'm still free, in a natural environment and being able to dedicate myself to art.
