Ana Clerici, an ode to today's woman

Ana Clerici, una oda a la mujer actual

Ana Clerici is an Argentine artist currently living in Barcelona. Her drawings are drawn using lines and brushstrokes that perfectly capture the personality and situations of each of her protagonists, always modern women as the main figures.

Hi Ana, who are you? How would you define yourself?

I am a sensitive woman who always smiles.

Where were you born? Do you still live there?

I was born in Argentina and two years ago I moved to Barcelona.

When did you decide to become an artist?

Since I was little, all I needed to entertain myself was to have something to draw in my hand. Then, when I was six, my parents took me to private classes with the Argentine painter Jorge González Perrín, who taught me until I was 12. At the same time, I went to an art school and always loved painting. At 18, I created my personal brand Anne Arte, with which I work and continue to project today.

How would you define your style in one sentence?

The simple brushstroke is sometimes the most expressive.

Your weaknesses? Your strengths?

Weaknesses: I am very critical of myself. Strengths: I am still very confident.

What would you say makes you different?

The art within me and how I learned to grow with it.

What do you find most fascinating about creativity?

Being able to reach others or convey things that you yourself had never intended.

Which of your works are you particularly fond of?

My profile piece, that's why it's called Anne. I like it to have very few lines and a lot of expression.

What inspires or influences you when creating?

I am very inspired by music but visually my greatest inspirations are Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.

Do you have any new projects or ideas in the works?

I currently have a project to print my paintings on fabric and create new design objects such as scarves. I would like to make clothes one day but for now I'm starting with something simpler.

2025 Where do you see yourself?

I see myself in Barcelona with a very large studio full of paintings.

Finish the sentence: When things get tough…

You have to surround yourself with love and creativity. Creativity saves many people.

A favorite place

The San Telmo neighborhood in Buenos Aires.

What would you do if you could change the world?

I would change the way we teach children so that they grow up more aware of what surrounds them and take better care of the planet, being kinder to humans and animals.

Second to last question… Favorite song?

Every stage of my life has a favorite song, today it is “Río Rosa” by Francisca and the Explorers.

Movie?

Amélie.
